Earlier this month, on a Saturday morning before the sun was even awake, we (Charli and Rebecca) took off to the mountains for a sunrise hike and product shoot. We went out with the intention of getting a few different brands in some lifestyle product shots as well as landscape photos for the surrounding area. After an hour of driving in the dark, we made it to the Devil's Head Lookout trailhead. We geared up, bundled up and started the mile and a half trek up the mountain. As we approached our destination, we started to see the first light of the day peeking over the mountain ranges in the distance and through the Aspen groves surrounding us. It was one of those moments where neither of us could stop saying "WOW!" as the colors intensified while we hiked up the trail. Our final destination was Devil's Head Fire-tower, which is the last remaining fire lookout on the front range that is still in service. Before you can get to the actual lookout, you have to climb 143 stairs, but it was so, so worth it! The sunrise was amazing!!

It was a perfectly clear day and the morning colors were subtle and beautiful - which created wonderful lighting for the photos. We could see Pikes Peak to the South, Mt. Evans and Mt. Bierstadt to the West, and Longs Peak to the North. Getting out into nature so early and shooting at a historical Colorado front range landmark made for an incredible Saturday morning and we can't wait for the next adventure - maybe it will even be with one of you!
